This upcoming week is my birthday and I want all of my readers to help me celebrate!

To kick-off birthday week on Kristinpotpie I have two tickets to give away for a fun event at the Bellevue Art Museum.

This Friday, August 17th, from 8-11pm, BAM is hosting its BAMignite – an after-hours event fusing the Museum’s latest exhibitions with music, performance art and interactive experiences.

You and a guest will “funk out” on BAM’s new rooftop sculpture garden while you enjoy:

Exhibits: The Bold Expressions & Shakers exhibits currently on display are full of beautiful textiles, colors, shapes and designs that appeal to the fashion, design and arts crowds alike.

Music: Live music by Marmalade, Seattle’s legendary funk & soul collective, as well as funk, soul, hip hop and world music presented by KEXP DJs Darek Mazzone and Chilly.

Performance Art: Contemporary African dance & percussion by Gansango and spoken word performances by Marita Isabel & okanomode.

Interactive Experiences: Such as Be a Curator! Bring an object you love, share its story and help curate an impromptu community exhibit.

And so much more!

The winner is also invited to the pre-Ignite exclusive Member Celebration from 6:30-8 pm. Come early, mingle, meet artists and curators, and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres! Cash bar.
