Will Bake For Food

Do you ever wish that you could just reach into your computer screen and grab that tasty looking treat from the pages of your favorite food blogger’s site? Oh boy – I know I do! The idea of smell-o-vision has nothing on taste-o-vision! But with all of our advances in this age of technology, I am sad to say that there is still no such thing. However, I can recommend an event happening this Saturday where there will be goodies galore, baked by many of Seattle’s fabulous food bloggers, all for a great cause! So get those taste buds ready – you are in for a “treat”!

The brainchild of two Seattle food bloggers, Jenny Richards of Purple House Dirt and Jenny Miller of Rainy Day Gal, “Will Bake for Food” is a grand-scale bake sale organized to benefit Northwest Harvest that will feature sweets baked by over 60 local food bloggers.

In addition to your traditional offerings, there will also be gluten-free treats, Skagit Fresh apple cider (generously donated by Whole Foods Market), locally roasted coffee, and a raffle featuring a gift certificate to Allium Restaurant on Orcas Island.

There’s going to be a lot of baking at my house later this week! If you haven’t already heard, I am participating in the event and so proud to be in such great company. I do hope you will join us – I’m planning on baking my grandmother’s pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting and these luscious Blueberry Struesel Muffins:
