Not long ago I had the opportunity to do something I have always wanted to do. Blow glass. Have you ever done this?
The fabulous staff at the Seattle Glassblowing Studio recently invited a group of local event planners to experience an evening of catered food (by Kaspar’s!) and creativity at the studio. It was so wonderfully comforting. The heat from the ovens, the repetitive rolling of the pipe, the low lighting and the soothing glow of the hot liquid glass.
What a great place for a party or a team-building event! They also offer six-week classes for beginners as well as weekend workshops, one-on-one or in small groups. We are known to have one of the most active glassblowing communities around and what better way to spend a day doing something so quintessentially Seattle?
If you are looking for a unique and local gift this holiday season why not consider the Seattle Glassblowing Studio? Each participant in a class or event gets to take home the several pieces of artwork that they have made.
They even have a special Holiday Gift-Making Workshop on December 17th from 6-9pm where you can create your own hand-blown glass ornament to give as a gift (or enjoy the event with someone special as your gift to them!) In addition they have a storefront, so if you do not consider yourself the most crafty person you can choose from a wide assortment of professionally hand-crafted pieces.
I just love the bowl that I made. Now I just need your help to figure out – what shall I put in it?
