I am a no-fuss gal when it comes to my “daily beauty ritual”. Actually, even just that phrase, that we all hear too often, makes me giggle!

But today I am celebrating my birthday and as I get older, I get more and more serious about my skin. I have tried many skincare products over the years but never been truly happy with any of them – too complicated, high cost, rashes, breakouts and a growing concern about chemicals always lead me back to my old standby – Here’s the confession…Dove soap on my face. (I know, I know.)

Frankly I am exhausted from it all! I just want something that is affordable, natural and simple. And something that works without reacting badly to my skin. Is that too much to ask? Well, apparently not!

Last week I was introduced to a skincare line that just may have changed my life! And my “daily beauty ritual” 😉

Kari Gran is a local small business (love that) headquartered in the most charming South Lake Union loft (boy, would I love to plan a party in this space!) run by Kari Gran and Lisa Strain (you just have to read their sweet story of friendship – here!), two women who truly have a passion for skincare – no, really!

Kari defines herself as a “beauty junkie” and created her own line of products after learning that she had an autoimmune disorder and could no longer continue the daily cocktail of unhealthy toxins she was putting on her skin.

Gran set out to create something that was simple, elegant and subtly scented. What she now calls “the little black dress of eco skin care.”

Their products are hand-poured in small batches using the finest available natural, organic, wild-harvested, and non-GMO ingredients. Free of petrochemicals, parabens, phtalates, mineral oil, chemical additives, toxins, preservatives, synthetic fragrances or animal-tested ingredients.

It all begins with a cleansing oil (Yes! Oil!) once in the evening, followed by a hydrating lavender or rose tonic and finished off by nourishing with the essential serum for your neck, décolleté and eye area.

“The concept of washing your face with oil is new to many people and I am here to say that it not only works but your skin will flourish because of it,” added Gran. “We like to say that we are ‘oil full’ and once you try it, you will understand.”

And you will! So simple, affordable, natural, and they work – just what I have been searching for! And may I tell you, my skin is glowing.

There is even a mineral makeup line perfectly suited for people like me – Kari calls it the, “five-minute face”  – that has been developed with all women in mind. There is just one color palette – flattering and complimentary to every skin tone.

No more standing at the make-up counter trying to figure out what colors will work – Kari has already done that for you.

And today, to celebrate my birthday, I am so excited that I get to share my new love with you!

Kari wants you to embrace the oil – so the wonderful ladies over at Kari Gran have given me one Skin Care Travel Set to giveaway to one of my readers.

The Skincare Travel Set includes a 10 ml essential serum, 15 ml lavender hydrating tonic and 15 ml cleansing oil—a two week supply depending on amount used. The product is so concentrated that the bottles are deceptively small. A little goes a long way.

The winner will also receive two jars of the product that started it all, their signature Lip Whip, – one tinted, to use in place of your favorite lip gloss,

And one naked. Believe me – your lips will thank you!

To enter the giveaway: All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog telling me about your favorite beauty tip. (You must do this first.)

Extra Entries – (Leave a comment on this blog for each one that you do.)

The giveaway will end Midnight Pacific Time, Tuesday, August 21. I will choose one winner from the comments on my blog Wednesday morning and will email the winner. Winner will have 24 hours to respond before I choose an alternate winner.

I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of Kari Gran skincare products for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.
