Urban Girl Garage Sale

If you have been reading my blog for a while you would know that I am a huge fan of thrifting – thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets all hold so much excitement and possibility of finding that little treasure. Last summer I even made the trek up to Everett for the “Mother of all Garage Sales” and I was hooked!

This weekend some local women are hosting a very unique sale and I may just have to strap on my shopping shoes.

Urban Girl Garage Sale

The “Urban Girl Garage Sale” was conceived by Zong Her, a Seattle Army Reservist; Darnell Sue, founder of Girl Power Hour and Darcy Camden, founder of Styled Seattle.

When two friends, Her and Sue, got to talking and both realized that they would be re-locating and needed to downsize, they came up with a solution to the problem that many urban girls face – no space for a garage sale. They created an event that would solve their problem and help them give back to their local community.

They both had tons of high quality items that they needed to get rid of, but what does a city-dweller girl with no garage do when she wants to sell stuff?

When the girls told their friend Darcy Camden, founder of Styled Seattle and resident stylist at KING-5 New Day Northwest, about the concept, she jumped on board; as a stylist, Darcy has helped hundreds of women clean out their closets, and she knows firsthand one person’s trash can be another’s treasure.

The Urban Girls’ Garage Sale will feature stylish used goods and apparel from female vendors.

This is the ultimate pop-up shop!

A unique shopping experience without consignment store prices that will include:

  • 40+ vendors
  • a networking café
  • trained stylists on-site to help you shop
  • plenty of high-quality goods, from clothes to small furniture and everything in between

Zong Her will be donating proceeds from her sales to Goodwill, Seattle. Each vendor will also be providing one item where the proceeds go to Goodwill, Seattle.  Goodwill helps low income individuals with barriers to employment get the training needed to become employed and gain economic self-sufficiency.

Partners include 1927 Events who was generous in providing the venue and Media Partner The CRAVE Company.
