Food. Events. Seattle.
Outside of my job and my family, these are three of my greatest loves. Combine all of them, and you’ve got a winner in my mind! That is why I am pleased today to tell you about a great food event this week at Seattle icon, the Space Needle!
What: As a toast to season one of KCTS 9’s Check, Please!, eighteen restaurants will tantalize palates at the first ever, Taste of Check, Please! Northwest. Whether it is Pork Adobada Sopes with Creamy Pico de Gallo, Smoked Mussels on the half shell, or exquisite regional chocolates, this night is sure to leave taste buds blissful.
Participating restaurants include the 5 Spot, Adam’s NW Bistro & Brewery, Barrio Mexican Kitchen & Bar, Blackboard Bistro, Chocolati, El Gaucho, Hunt Club at Sorrento Hotel, Local 360, Macrina Bakery, Mekong Village, Ray’s Boathouse, Shamiana, Skillet: Counter at the Armory, Stopsky’s Delicatessen, Tom Douglas’ Rub with Love, and SkyCity at the Needle.
When: Thursday, September 19, from 6-9 p.m.
Where: This music infused party will be held at the Space Needle on the SkyLine level and Observation Deck.
Set at SkyCity at the Needle, Check, Please! Northwest is a lively half-hour long program, where every week three passionate locals share their favorite eateries and hot spots around the city. After dining anonymously at each other’s restaurant picks, the show’s guests then gather with host Amy Pennington to passionately debate and champion their dining experiences.
Tickets: $60 plus tax and gratuity, and are available for purchase online at www.spaceneedle.com/taste/.
Join me to share your passion for food and nightlife in the city, and toast the iconic view with cocktails created by mixologists Jon Christiansen of Ba Bar and Monsoon, and Vasillos Polimenako of Joule and Revel. A friendly competition to determine the best cocktail of the night, as voted on by Taste-goers, will be hosted by local bartender and radio personality Lisa Martin. Dance into the night with Seattle’s favorite party band, Shelley and the Curves on the SkyLine level, and DJ Mullet, who will be spinning from 520 feet in the sky on the Observation Deck.
Hope to see you there!
