I really think you are going to like this holiday outing! It is designed for the crafty, and non-crafty alike. If you are looking for holiday fun, gifts or items to decorate your home please come by, do a bit of shopping, support a local treasure and be sure to say hello!

The Arboretum Foundation in Seattle (yes, that’s where I work!) is holding its annual holiday greens sale next weekend – Gifts & Greens Galore!

Lynn and Ciscoe will talk about some of the unusual fresh greens we’ll be offering at the sale, and how you can turn them into fabulous holiday decorations for the home.

One last thing – if you’ve been taking advantage of the nice weather and doing some pruning in your yard – we need your help stocking our inventory of fresh clippings.

Following is our 2011 wish list:

The funds from this sale go to benefit the Arboretum Foundation. The Arboretum Foundation promotes, protects and enhances the Washington Park Arboretum for current and future generations by strengthening and building a diverse and engaged community of donors, volunteers and advocates.

Things have been a little crazy around here. Last week we lost one of Ā pet family members – our dearĀ Storm cat, then my mother arrived from out of town for a visit, and on top of that I was busy helping to plan a family birthday party for my grandfather. Ā With everything that was going on, I realized yesterday that I really hadn’t given Valentine’s Day a whole lot of thought.

No worries though. A quick, pretty, festive table doesn’t have to, and shouldn’t be something that one stresses over. Ā  I threw togetherĀ this tablescapeĀ this morningĀ with things I had on hand from around the house. I think it turned out well.

It’s all ready for our family dinner. I just need to add three things; flowers (I hope to receive these from my honey šŸ˜‰ ), some take-out Chinese food, and a decadent chocolate dessert. I’m making these delicious chocolate cupcakes to add to my red cake pedestals.

Happy Valentine’s Day my loves! Hope you have a wonderful time with your family, friends, or a special someone!
